New Nikon 50mm lens
Nikon has announced that it will release a new 50mm 1.4 lens sometime in December which will have SWM and thus auto-focus for the 40 and 40x. Since the Nikon 50mm f/1.4G AF-S Auto Focus Nikkor Lens presumably will be a substantial update why would one purchase this older version other than the cheaper price and/or the immediate need? It is surprising that Amazon has not listed the new product.
awesome high aperture lens
its a great lens for high aperture shoots. keep in mind if you have a Nikon D40 or D60 the auto focus will not work you will have to manually focus the lens. other then that is is a great lens
Worth it.
Its worth it dont be cheap and settle for the 1.8f. This lens can take pictures by candle light.
