Choose this lens with a D700 or better
I was in RITZ camera talking about my D80 and I was shown a D700 with this lens. We then put the same lens on my D80. OMG NO COMPARISON. You got much more field of view with a D700 or better. The D80s processor/field of view was much smaller compared to the D700 and this lens. The rep who is a semi-pro photographer recommended this lens with the D700 or better because of this.

the BEST wide angle lens ever. SHARP good color and contrast. just be careful of the exposed front element as it does not take filters.
Dreamy lens
Just returned from a landscape workshop and of my four lenses 24-70 70-200 & 50/1.4 I found myself returning to this lens time and time again. The optical quality is just superb. The contrast and clarity of the images are startling. Because of the bulbous front element which reminds me of "Hal" from "2001-A Space Odyssey" no filters will fit this lens.
